i had a friend that told me pd154's react badly with 1850's.
last time we used this set up last half hour of night the bass cut out for reasons no one could figure out. may it of been this?

That doesn't make any sense at all. Whatsoever.
Not only does 'react badly with each other' mean nothing, you do not say what enclosures they are in, what was driving them etc. If your bass or similar dropped it is not because of another transducer used in your PA. You have overloaded an amplifier or an MCB somewhere. Unless you wired two sets of cabs in parallel and then frankly I don't know what. Edited by odc04r - 02 July 2011 at 12:29am |

154s get a serious case of Napoleon complex when near 1850s and constantly try and outdo the biguns. This causes them to be be outside x-max all the time, even when not connected. The only way to fix it is if you make a set of blinkers so the 154s can't see the 1850s.

if not blinkers then just put some sort of cover over the 1850s and hope for the best, but if the 1850s find out theres some 154s about id call security

yea sorry was a bit vauge. I was talkin about cancelling each other put loss of frequencys etc. 154's are in hd215's on top of 1850's. 1850- 42hz-80hz- hd's 80-200 occaisonally run it as low as 75-200 very occaisonally around 90/100hz-200hz |

Why are you using these who bins together? 1850 horn will do the 45-150 alone.

That would be a timing or phase issue causing cancellation at X-over.
Whilst a big hat and sunglasses would be an answer to cover the identity of the person who set it up the long term answer would be to use the LMS to set them up correctly. 1850 @ 150 will do it but would you want to? Not for my ears. Tony |

yea i knew it would be a phasing issue but i no nothing of phasing to be truthfull apart frm its when two bins in the same frequency range are out of "phase".
and we are using them two bins together because we only had four 1850's (we have loads of hd's about not being used) and needed to fill a larger room so brought them along for height but m crew wanted to have them running so i just wired it and fr about 5-6 hours it was soundy warm and peachy lol. Then the bass cut out for the last half an hour.
