Can anybody give me good ideas of where to look to buy a Kef T-27 SP1032 tweeter unit apart from ebay?
Either than or any suitable alternatives of which I could buy a pair. Looking for somewhere in the UK so I can get my replacement quickly. Thanks for any help you can give. |

If you have a blown one then a couple of years ago KEF were looking at getting some repair kits made up for them, I don't know if they ever did but might be worth giving them a call.

Grrr!! I had decided that I was going to buy the only pair on Ebay with a buy it now price (and quite reasonable on investigation) but somebody's got in there before me and they're gone :(
I don't know if it's just me but that ls3/5a site linked by Tony wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped. A couple of links to people who make/recondition the BBC classic but nobody with drivers listed from what I can see. Guess I'll have to ring/email the people listed and hopefully I can get it sorted today, if not then monday... Jake: Are you talking about driver repair or a entire recone kit of a LS3/5a? If the latter then that's not the speaker cabinet I have what are basically the original of these speakers but made in the 70's with old Kef units (T27, B110, B139 and, iirc, a Coles super tweeter (4001?)) and missing the angled panel in the back at the bottom which the crossover is attached to in that picture. The veneer is also pealing very badly! ![]() |

Would you think these are official Kef T27 SP1032? The rear is missing the printed text and just has a sticker. They apparently came out of a pair of Kef Concordes.
Rear usually looks like this (mine do.) |

Hi,
I have a very old pair of custom built speakers, and the two KEF T27 SP1032 Tweeters are dead. I dont want quality out of these (I have that elsewhere), I want a lot of volume. Can you recommend a cheap alternative that will do the job at high volumes, please? |

T27s are rare and expensive as they are sought after. You want to play loud? Look elsewhere. Vifa makes a nice inexpensive replacement. It still won't play loud, but at least you won't waste a good T27.

I can't see your photos, but KEF made several versions of the Concorde and I'm pretty sure none of them used a T27. The first Concorde had a T15/T52, which had a copper painted metal back with a sticker on. Later models used a T33 with a square faceplate and then an Audax tweeter. |

Check out the repair/replacement section at Wilmslow Audio. They recommend alternatives for classic drivers. For the T27 they suggest either a Morel CAT298 or Scanspeak D2905 9500.
