Hi all, I'm going to build some ultra cheap 12"+1" wedges. I got given 4 Tasco 12" drivers, and I've got some Eminence 1.6k passive xovers leftover from something else. All I need is to find some 1" drivers and horns. Obviously, I need whatever I choose to be happy at 1.6k. That said, these Tasco's aren't very loud, so the comp driver isn't going to get stressed much. Looking at a ~£40 budget, what do people recommend? Here's what I've looked at so far; P-Audio BM-D450 The BMD450 and DE12 might not be too happy down at 1.6k (although my crossover is 18dB/octave, which helps). The DE12 looks a little fragile. SMC280 I have no experience with, but it looks okay on paper. Does anyone have any other suggestions, or any opinions on the drivers mentioned above? Thanks in advance, Owen |

Hi, I have only heard the BMD 450 and that is a great compression driver for the money, much better than the Eminence PSD2002 which is in the same price range. There shouldn't be a problem in crossing them over at 1.6khz. |
