Been sifting through old pictures today to find one of my favourite BMX, thought I should dig out some of the the shameful stacks we've taken out in the past.  Good for a laugh if nothing else!!

This is the earliest one I have a picture of, car subs and borrowed hi-fi speakers powered mostly by hi-fi amps.  Still don't know why we did this one, temperature barely got above zero!

Same car subs and crummy collection of amps (think we'd "upgraded" to soundlab at this point!) actual PA tops!  Took this back to the same place as above at a more sensible time of year and had a  great night, sound quality doesn't matter when you're 19 and in a pickle!

Took the car sub drivers and made a stab at building boxes for them, as you can see I hadn't discovered speakerplans yet.  The openings you can see at the edge of the cabs aren't ports, just openings!  There was more bass coming from the tops but at least they weren't just sitting on the floor!

Next one was at Trefil quarry, didn't have the crummy home brewed bins plugged in, bass was only coming from one W bin but we had fun anyway!

One of the adventures on the Ridgeway, borrowed a pair of 18 scoops and blew up a 1000w soundlab amp trying to power them!  Was a weird afternoon that one, my brother had to make two trips to get all the kit and leftover ravers back, so me and 3 others spent three hours waiting by ourselves and playing cards around a garden table with bass bins for chairs.  We had some pretty odd looks from the dog walkers!

By this time I'd found speakerplans and realised how laughable our attempts had been so far, so we had a pair of double 15 W bins built for us.  Ignore the ginger in the way, she was a shortarse, so made a good yardstick to make the rig look bigger!

The speaker buying bug hit me and we got more tops and a pair of chinese double 18 FK1/turbosound/USB analogues.

Closely followed by another pair!

This one put us out of action for a while after we got sectioned and the rig was confiscated, worth it though for the night/day we had!

The arrival of my daughter put us even further out of action, so I spent a couple of years reading up on speakerplans and designed some bass bins.  Tops will eventually follow when I can afford drives and prototypes!
The 15" kick bins turned out great, sounded better and were louder than HORNRESP or I expected.
The 18" subs weren't so good, play nothing but 60-80hz!  These are going to be scrapped and replaced with cubo subs soon and I'll be complete, for now!

Nice progression, wish I had some pics of what I was rocking 10+ years ago to what's about today. I still have the cheapo amps under my bed somewhere!

We relegated those that survived to mini-rig duty, looking after the environment an' all that!

So is the last picture your current system? Looks like a laugh, especially Pictures 1,2,3 & 4. What's the time span of your conquest?

Yeah BP6, was originally going to build X1s but the response didn't plot very well with my beyma 18g550s. Plus the X1s wouldn't have given the tops enough height.
Unfortunately, I didn't have the funds to make prototypes and get the tuning right. Hence the move to cubos, from what I've read they'll suit most drivers, only one way to find out!

And yeah, we got the whole rig back in the end (only took three months!)
Luckily we already had a reputation with Thames valley copper for well organised parties, clearing up properly and not p*ssing off the locals! We had to attend interviews with the chief super, mostly involving me telling them "no, I don't know who organised X party and I wouldn't say if I did!" Me ad my brother had anti social behaviour contracts for a year, saying we couldn't organise parties, rent vans or gennies or even transport sound equipment. But it only applied within thames valley, they very kindly told us the safest counties to go to!!

Lesson learned, if you're sober and treat the cops with respect, they treat you with respect too!

Is that pic in the farm building from a new year party 3 or 4 years ago (maybe more)? I'm pretty sure that I mixed some DnB on that system.

Sounds about right, longworth? Was a good night that one, got lost a few times, helped drag Alice's landy out of a ditch, tons of DnB, think that was the night soap dodger had an argument with the floor!

After we packed up the me and the wench had to go straight to cheltenham for a day at the races with the in-laws, that bit wasn't so fun!

Should've looked at the picture first, if you meant this one

can't remember when this was (night's something of a blur!), but was in the barns at Wroughton before they were torn down. All I seem to remember from that party is charlotte getting sick in the car!

Yeh that's it. Alice phoned me asking if I'd like to bring some mates along to spin some tunes. Ended up getting pretty messy.
