The original Martin Audio driver is said to be RCF L18P300

For bass this system had 4 1840 horns all loaded with PD1850 drivers, run off a void infinite 8 amplifier. There were 4 HD15 horns on top of them run from 2 bridged void infinite 4 amps. The mid was from two martin phillishaves run froma c-audio RA4001 and two porn-horns loaded with p-audio drivers. Top was two porn-horn tops and a radial B&C loaded 1.4inch.
We were pleased with the sound we got at that party, at night when nobody could see the size of the stack we had more people dancing than almost all the rigs 10 times as big. We're putting some photos up on our website soon. We've got almost twice as much system now so look out for us at the teks next year. Edited by biotec - 13 February 2006 at 1:46pm |

horn resp is showing excursion at + - 19mm (both ways) the tbx1000 drivers xmax is 9mm you will need a lr 24db hp filter around 40-45hz to stop damaging your driver al |

B&C sub drivers tend not to be the best choice for horns.
Their drivers are more optimised for reflex and bandpass use.
From a quick glance the PS76 or PZB100 would be better than the TBX100.
The RCF may be a good choice, especially if it is the driver Martin used. The 600W rating compared to the 1000W of the B&C is unlikely to be a problem unless you intend running much more than 1kW/cab. Other than that Precision Devices make some of the best drivers for horn loading. The PD1850 has got to be an option for the WSX. Don't quote me on this but I believe that hornresp can overestimate the excursion, especially compared with real program material (ie music). You're not often going to be running a 1kW sine wave at 40Hz. Hope this helps.... |

Toxic, the whole point of this thread is that the V18-1000 is not available to him and he's asking for alternatives!!!
Wakey wakey! Put the spl*ff down and pay attention.
