Hello all

Very interesting reading here well done

I need to construct 4 of   1 x 10 cabs
to be used for small power full range (backgroud music and speech)
but also can be used as mid top with bins for a larger system

i have 4 Kappa pro 10's

and 4  2002 eminence comps

with flares that are 32cms x 12 cms (odd size brought from studio spares)

All of the plans i find tend to be pure mid/tops
and the size of the horn i have is too wide for them
i need the specs for a basic trap cab that can give me as close to an acceptable full range sound (from a 10") as poss
and still be wide enough to get the flares in

any advice would be very useful

Thank all

i think that horn of yours is going to be too wide for any available trap plans for a 10" driver. have you considered designing your own cabs or getting some smaller horns?

Ebay your flares and get some squarer ones.  P-Audio PH220 seems to be a good choice.

Then just design the box yourself.  Work out how wide the baffle needs to be then take some sides back at (probably) 15deg angles.  Then as deep as you want it to be.

You're probably going to want to put the crossover from the 10" to the PSD2002 at about 2-2.5kHz.

You should give simulation of the cab a go using WinISD Pro (google Linearteam WinISD), that way you can work out a volume and tuning which will suit the driver.
