Looking to build 2 of EV MTH4's I have the plans for the MTL4, and after reading a bit on them I know they weigh an absolute ton, but I'm still interested.
Plans if you have them please. |

Yes I do. Did a lot of reading on them before hand. I'm building 2 EAW BH 882's. Heavy doesn't matter too much to me.

I started to look for those plans when I joined the site (2004) and have continued ever since... never found them though. But it's basically four 10" drivers mounted on a manifold. It might be easier to find someone who's got one and borrow it for a day. Then get your tape measure out!

Why not just take to tape with you and save your strength for when you have to lift your own?

He does have a point don't think the MT system sounded that good anyway really unless you had stacks of it and I seem to remember they had a habit of eating drivers although that may have just been the bass cabs , There's far better kit out there now that will way out perform the MT boxes and will be much lighter. |

Buy or build? If your already building the 882's why not go with something to compliment them? are you building them with or without the horn extension? If you wanted to be really impressive and are seriously not worried about the size/weight/moving them you could alway's build a ministry of sound type system but you'd need many mate's on had to move it and it wouldn't be cheap to build. Personally I'd be looking at some of the larger ASS/spectra mid hi cabs with a 2 x 15 horn between them and the 882 bass loaded with the right drivers it would be a very formidable system. Edit for photo: Bit small but you'll get the idea ![]() Edited by colint - 03 December 2011 at 10:17am |

The BH 882s I have now are UNGODLY heavy. I have 8 locking castors on each. The complimentary stuff to an RLA system like that costs like $60,000 and also weighs a ton. The BH 882's come out once in a blue moon and all I do I stack 2 JBL dual 15's on top of each. Tremendous power from the Bh882, and I don't have the flares on them.
Thank you for your help everyone. Currently hammering out G-Subs. |
