What a great find there there Ian.
I can remember lusting after those TUAC 125w power modules - 125w was 25w more than the 'normal' disco rig amps of 100w, so they had to be good! - things like DC protection etc didn't seem to matter back then.......
I hadn't realised TUAC were based so close the where I grew up (Putney), had I realised I suspect I would have cycled along there and had some - instead I found Powertran Electronics in Andover - 80+ miles away!
Great find Ian.

About when are these ad from. I remember dreaming over these amp module ads when I was in my teens. Never had enough money for them though.

Yup and we used to use some of their amps for background music systems (mainly toilets where they belonged)

Unfortuantly they still make the dam things Martin!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ILP-HY2005-120-WATT-POWER-AMPLIFIER-MODULE-/271133958852?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Amplifiers&hash=item3f20d7e2c4 I bought a couple of the 120w watt ones for my first ever disco system way back in 1975, both went bang within a few weeks of getting them (black smoke, nasty acrid smell)... despite being under garentee ILP were extremely unhelpful, after lots of letters complaining, they finally replaced them, and suprise, they both did the same thing again with a month. Utter rubbish. ![]() The TUAC modules were far better made. |

Ian, what
a brilliant find. TUAC made some nice little modules at the time and better
still, they were affordable! I remember
going from an ex military motorised mechanical selector unit to a TUAC 4 channel chaser and
thinking my light show had really ‘arrived’!! |

Ah, now I see why they're so cheap. It was mid 80s I used to see adds for SA modules. We're they still on sale then do you think? Can't for the life of me remember where I saw them. Maybe a popular electronics magazine or maybe the Henry's flyer?? S |

Hi
I have a Bi-Kits amplifier module AL250 which I believe was the same as Tuac. Made by BI-PakSemiconductors from Ware, Herts. It is boxed and un-used and looking for a new home, no PSU. Ian |
