finialy got hold of a 4 of theses jbl concert series 4825a i think that's right any way

some think there ugly with there baby bum 2344a radial horns but i like them i love all the vintage jbl stuff.

so when i come across these i just at to have them!

they have got all 4 original hf drivers which are the jbl 2426j

the lf not so original
1x 2206h with genuine jbl cone

1x jbl 2206hp with aluminum dust cap so a recone along the way

1x jbl i think its rather a 2202 or a k120 im not to sure

im gonna up load some photos so im sure some one will know

they have got the muitli pin cannon plugs on at the moment so im in the process of changing

them to speakon 4pin 2x had crossovers in im not sure if there original or not i think not

im going to give them a good clean down

and upload some photos

Nice find, from top to bottom, top one is an older 2204.middle one is later 2206,but not sure what is going on with that last driver,it appears a 2206 chassis with an E120 cone plonked in it? Either way that one is wrong.

If i remember,i think the crossover is 1200hz.
Be seeing you.

Yeah, crossover point is 1200hz.

I have some similar boxes, Sound Power I725ap (have foam grilles to hide that ugly horn!)
I have mine Loaded with the 2206 and BMS 4550, running bi-amped.

Sound civilised yet can be very loud when they need to be! You won't be disappointed when you get them running!

Thank you guys iv been changing them ugly cannon plugs over what ever are they

there seems to be a lot of variations of this box some with the 2022 driver in is there a lot of difference
how the BMS compare to the jbls?

iv now added the speakons which is a job in its self removing the old glue

and after a good old scrub

im going to remove the horn driver and give the flare a good clean and to mack sure there's no harmful stuff in there then play with cross over points

I loved the early sound power stuff, I had some of the 4726ap's ugly box but sounded real nice especially when mounted on top of the square 2 x 15 jbl cabs I bought with them mine were loaded with the later 2206 drivers and 2226 in the bass cabs.
(AP behind the model number normally means passive crossover)

These were the bass cabs I used with them an awesome combination

Nice work, what will be driving these and what will you be using them for?

I cant comment on how the BMS compares to the 2426.... When I bought mine, someone had replaced the originals with maplin peizo's, woodscrewed onto the back of the horn Dead. I dont want to begin to think what that sounded like, especially crossed over at 1200hz...

I couldn't get hold of any 2426's at the time, the 4550 fitted my needs and Tony was a helpful chap. Seemed like a logical progression. As far as compression drivers go, the 4550 seems quite efficient and sounds smooth, even approaching full chat, has a nice sparkle after a little eq. I'd say it's a good unit!

I loved all the old sound power stuff to the 4726ap looks very similar to slightly different horn

Iv got 4x jbl 2x15's to mine are loaded with the 2032h tho not so good I think there do the job

2x of mine have crossovers in but I don't think there Original I would of rather run them passive really
Next job is to save and get 3 more 2026

We own a funfair so just going to put them on my ride

These have had there bass drivers all changed along there life I understand why some one would mismatch them tho beats me

I'm guessing the bass cabs you have will be the MS125?

This setup will be great on a ride... will make a nice change to those boxes with 'disco' sprayed on the grille I seem to remember seeing at fairgrounds!
