Hi Guys...
This is my first post, I am thinking about building a couple hog scoops. I would like to know what is the minimum frequency response of these scoops.
Thanks

Hi,
..33 - 35 Hz - single cabinet ..depending on selected speaker unit.
Use high pass filter (low cut) @ 25-30Hz. Upper crossover point NO higher than 115Hz.
Best wishes,
Stipe

i have another question. i think both you and mykey agree that this design uses a small rear chamber... if you took the standard hog scoop design and made the rear chamber even smaller would this have any noticeable effect on spl/response?
thinking of making six on a cnc but just waiting [or hoping] someone posts some freq plots!

the hog scoop plan doesnt make sense to me!!! either it doesnt add up or im going crazy?! Stipe: Can you post a new plan with tolerances set to 0.00mm as it seems your dimensions have been rounded up/down to the nearest 1mmedit: maybe some angles would be alot more helpful. aslo the start/finish points of PART G, L, E1, E2
sorry for being abit slow!!! Edited by Heathrow_B_line - 30 April 2007 at 6:21pm |

Hello, Part "G" and "L" are straight pieces with 45 degree angle on booth ends and I assumed that there is not necessary to note start/end points as it will "naturally" fit in 90 degree corner in right way. Parts "E1" and "E2" have one end with 45 degree angle. On plans you will see that noted parts have some blurred sign on one end (which intended to be number 45 but is a bit blurred due to image compression) When you position "E-parts" with that 45 degree-side on neighboring panels ("J" and "D") other end will naturally "sit" where it have to be.. Only bigger and important part dimensions that miss on drawing is braces "br3" plans latter when I catch some time. Best wishes, Stipe Edited by staiper - 01 May 2007 at 12:57pm |

I dont know stipe maybe its just me being abit dumb! you are of course right that 0.3mm will not make any difference. i gave up trying to figure out what i was missing with your design so decided to change it abit for my own needs. I think i'll build one to see how it sounds loaded with a pd1850
by the way stipe why does br4 show 425mm and on your drawing you show 424mm?
also stipe would making the speaker chamber smaller enhance performance? or increase lower frequency response? Edited by Heathrow_B_line - 02 May 2007 at 9:32pm |
