Hi, I am new to this forum. I went throught all the desing in the speakerplans site and now confused. I need to build 2 boxes for my SR707 amplifier. I need a bin which gives DEEP TIGHT BASS ( chest hitting punch ) So which design is good for me. I plan to put P audio SD.
Is 1850 ok for me ? of X1 ? or G type bin? Please help me. Few of my friends said horn type and subwoofers gives boom bass . means bass with little eco.Is that true. Because I have never heard the sound of X1 or 1850 horn type boxes Thanks Shehantha |

the bins you picked are more suited towards booming as appose to pounding...i THINK your after kick bass instead of sub bass.

^^ Can confirm this. Worrying but was pretty sure it would be fine all night at roasting hot temperatures.
It was when it and the peavey cs1200x underneath it got together was when the problems started haha |

In order to get a serious reply you need to ask a serious question!
Your question translate quite similar to this. I need a luxury and very roomy 4 door sport car that i can use on the race track, but also use it as a limo service on occasions. Depp bass, and punchy bass are two different bass characteristics. So chose your weapon. Tight and punchy or deep. Both are possible only with reflex subs.

Normally, you choose the cabinet first, then the best driver to load it with, then the amplifiers. You seem to be looking at things the wrong way round.
Best advice I can give is to go and listen to some systems, decide what you like the sound of, then come back and we can help you select the DIY cabinet which is the closest match.
