My racks almost finished. Nothing professional, just for hobby
![]() I tried to make a small and easy to setup system that would fit in my car. It consists of 2 racks. Rack 1: Mixer (Old school D&R Discom 1) 2 x 15 band equalizer compressor coming soon... Homemade amplifier 2x60W for small monitors near the mixer Rack 2: Active stereo 2-way crossover Amplifier for subs Amplifier for sats Speakers: Subs are MTH-30 loaded with thomann 12-280/8-W (In picture is a test woofer, not the thomann) Sats are own design loaded with thomann 12-280/8-A and Eminence APT150 ![]() ![]() ![]() |

go on then... what amps you running, lets have a look.
your sat's, lets have a look at those too. ..i like the sound of it. its a nice simple little set-up. how you finding the thomann drivers then? didnt think they would hold up well in the MTH30. got any nice pic's of the rig all set up? |

Sounds great to me. Better then a lot of small branded subs i heard before. Here is a movie of someone using the same driver in the MTH-30 Somebody made a simulation for me with the thomman 12-280/8-W driver ![]() |

Sorry for the thread hijack!
I've just built a double Cubo12 loaded with two of the Thomann drivers. Haven't had a chance to see what it like giving it the full beans yet but at low volumes it's average to OK.

Well, the guy that made the simulation got his input for the MTH-30 from the internet and this could be incorrect. I'm not missing anything in the lower regions. Plan is to build 2 more in the future, so I can make a stack of 4. Currently I have a 2x300W/8Ohm amp for the subs, this will move to the sats, and the subs will be powered by an amp with around 2x1000W/4Ohm.

that will give you some nice head room and if stacked well should get you some very nice low-lows.
cant wait to see pictures of the full setup... how are you currently stacking your MTH30s? |

Here is an older picture of the sat, but with a piezo tweeter that I mounted while waiting for the APT150. Not sure if I keep the color, I had a tin of paint laying around :)

MTH30 is a 50Hz box as specified by the designer... that's the compromise getting such output from a 12" in a simple design
Your Hornresp inputs look fine, they're the same numbers I've found to use for simming this box... and that driver looks like it sims well, what is the xmax? Should take a few hundred watts without trouble |

thats a nice diddy stack there fella... keep the colour "turbo blue" adds at least 10db to the output of any speaker!
but, as a bit of constructive criticism, get your sats up at head hight. buy tri-pods or something but getting them up high means you dont need to rag them trying to get them loud as the 1st few people in the crowd in front of them will dampen the output of them. so next on your wish list: tri-pod stands! I was told Xmax is between 6-7mm. My amplifier is 300W RMS, and I can give it full trottle.
