Yet another scoop supposed to be used by Big sounds.

Never hear anyone chatting about these, but I hear they are also supposed to be better than most.

Don't know if its the Dalston firm Tony.

My "pa snob" reckons Elvin's cabs have been copied by many builders, and supplied to many big sounds.

But then again, that may just be his way of trying to promote a pile of Elvin's he wants to shift.

He also suggests that PD1850 was based on Fane Design, so it's no suprise to him Turbomax smacks 1850 in terms of SPL @ sub bass.

Does he know which Fane model PD copied. I would have thought that any influence originally might have come from Makenzie speakers as it was Brian Makenzie who was in the chair.

there larrys scoops levyte357 (mr dub) southend

Elvin used to buy from him, I was there on many occasion's when larry used to deliver

Joke...

hello sir! do you deliver?
Indian answer's...
sorry sir! we only do Lam and Chicken

Elvin didn't design box's, he just made amps and mixers, and cut corners by not using circuit boards when you took the lid off one, you thought you were staring at Jamy Oliver's spaghetti Bolugnese
the scoop is nothing special, just a copy of the JBL 15'' scoop with a 18'' baffle
his shop was in Dalston Lane, I first went there in 1978/9
the sight is now a Sainsbury's I believe

Mike you confirmed what I thought. I remember seeing a chipboard scoop for 100 quid in the shop. It was larry's. Always made me smile.
