THAM 15 MK 1 + F208

   I've finally finished the build on my THAM15s and they sound fantastic!

Panels cut by TMAL went together smoothly. I made a few customisations for the corner handles and ended up having to botch the recesses because I didn't draw them up correctly!
The THAMs are loaded with Beyma 15LX60-V2. Really pleased!

The tops are Tony Wilkes (RIP) F208 BMS loaded double 8", actually pictured to the right are a pair of his FTH12 horns too, absolutely phenomenal sound for the size and weight.

I'll get round to sanding and painting at some point, I was just too impatient!

	I have a pair of his X10s and they sound fantastic too! Are the f208 the exact jobbies off his site? i ask as a smaller pair of speakers would be nice too..... and i really want to build a set of the fth12f as well but with my pd12sb30's instead. ...such a shame and such a loss, wish i could have picke his brains more.

	They are the jobbies off his site, but built in d'apolito instead of the CD on top, I just prefer them that way aesthetically, such nice boxes! together with the FTH12f a very portable system with plenty of oomph. Have you managed to sim the FTH12? I tried using the CAD but it didn't seem to work very well...

	Cant sim for love nor bloody money... i think to make it work similar you just remove the last 8cm dog leg and its the same as the THAM12 but a tad smaller and all right angles along the horn path unlike the tham12 that has a 45degree bend at the last turn.......

	I just can't seem to translate the bends into straight lines, it's wizardry! Ah well, some clever chaps did the hard graft and I'm reaping the rewards! Cheers to the designers, Martinsson and Tony!

	Anders design is the tham12 and Tonys was the fth12f...... i think it was a case of they both designed them around the same time and came to a similar conclusion.

	I was referring to the THAM15 and FTH12. I'm loving the tapped horns so much, what's the downside? the relatively narrow range in useful response? If I remember right they don't group to give a lower response either.

	They do drop a little lower in groups.... not a huge amount but they do. The smaller horns like your 12 tend to have a lower loading point, much like the MTH30 of around the 50 mark. BUT like my tham12 they do have a certain thud to them its not deep rumbling sub, but nit quite kick either. I cut mine at about 130ish so its a good octave and a half of bass (as i give it some tiny eq at 45hz) Anyway.... im lookin to swap out my cubo15s for tham15s now... thats how much i like 'em!!

	I cross them somewhere between 120-150Hz, But I've not really had a play yet, need to lug them outside for a real fiddle and listen session. The F208 sounds great with vocals, so I don't want to go too much higher than 150 and start loosing that quality. Until their painted up I won't bother with photos, my builds really aren't that tidy! unless there was anything specific?

	I'm interested in trying a pair of THAM15's. @Jebimasta - have you had the chance to try yours outside yet? I know it's only 5 days since you posted but when you have new toys to try.... well I get impatient anyway. Would you intend to leave the apertures in the cabs open? Or, have some grilles made? My preference would be grilles just to prevent people stashing things inside. Sounds like a good idea to have the panels CNC cut too - what was the delivery time from TMAL? Cheers, Steve/Soundscape

	I did have a quick play outside yeah! not for any prolonged amount of time at high power (living in a shared house adjacent to a few families...) but they do sound fantastic. I'm not the most experienced of listeners but I'd say they sounded full bodied with plenty of thud, and loud! the sensitivity is great! I'm probably going to work out a neat way of adding grilles at some point, but they might sit over the entire front instead of just the mouth. It's remarkable how many people think the mouth of a horn is a great place to stash their bags... TMAL was very accommodating, programmed the new CNC routing and managed to turn them around in a few weeks :)
