Have a few bar/pub/restaurant type refurbishments comming soon..

Any particular systems you recommend?
Speakers aswell as Amps and Zoning etc. - on a budget though ;)
(no soundweb blue, no big brand names cabs)

Some of the Apart stuff seems alright, same goes for LD Systems imo.
Amps will most likely be the tsa4-300s as no need for ELA due to small size and amount of cabs..

Thanks in adcance for your opinions :)

If its "budget" stuff why not mdf build the cabs and pay more money for the drivers and get hold of older transformer amps.

If it sounds like a gorilla is trying to escape, turn it down.

there is a brand new range of 4 chanell amps with transformators by thomann,

even smaller, but also cheaper, than the tsa 4- range.

Speakers - How big and how budget?

Cloud DCM zoner budget?

Amps wise the Thomann 4 ch ones are good value.

good questions dylan..
Amp side is sorted with these el cheapo 4ch jobby i guess

Speakers - 3 different purposes so 3 different sizes imo

-8"-10" compact tops that will get small sub extension (2x12" maybe as looking for punch rather than real sub to avoid noise issues)
- very small floor but edm might be played at dancing levels sometimes..

-6"-8" for the areas that could do with a rather fullrange output but lower levels than the "spot"

-very small cabs for the quite areas that still should have some sound at least

Not too sure about the zoning/processing yet tbh., not my sort of business, need to take a look at whats available and what exactly is needed now Embarrassed

Inputs will be:
dj set
playback source
mics 1-3

4-6 zones with varying amount of cabs

and as usual all on tight budget Dead

just had a look at the cloud.. - wonder why would you need so many unbalanced inputs nowadays?

Does not make too much sense to me tbh. - dj gear/xlr - mics/xlr - playback/xlr
Will look further at whats available to cover the needs :)

With that many zones, you either need to be looking for a scalable / networkable zoner, or a zoner plus xover for the zones which need it. For example you could go for a dbx zonepro with 6 outputs, one for each zone - and use an xover for the areas which have sub. That'd still give you remote control, the right outputs, eq etc, as well as balanced and unbalanced inputs. Only 2 mics I think but you could use a standalone mic pre for the 3rd.

Any idea the price points each size speaker should be hitting?

Things to take into account - the impedance of the cabs for starters. People love JBL Control 1 pros, but they're a 4R box, so you can't ordinarily hang loads off an amp. There's a few 16R bits around, for the background areas, we use the Ohm Boutique a fair bit. Glossy, cast ally cube, looks the part, sounds ok, well priced... For bigger though, you need to have a think whether smaller, cheaper boxes, or a more expensive, better quality wide dispersion box (you need half the amount of) will suit you better.

Check out the studiospares range. They have their own "Control 1" copy from £15.00 each (Curiously sold for £49.00 a pair..... work that out). They have 10 of the singles in stock.

Or slightly bigger BG206s for £99 a pair.

Don't be so quick to bypass the cloud stuff, it's very well thought out and normally has a host of hidden features.
also (and I don't supose I need to say) don't even think of installing this stuff without a limiter the fact it has a Dj going through the system say's it's going to get red lined.

Used

These

in a pub many years ago. Been faultless, still going strong. The slightly bigger one with the proper looking horn is not as bright and gave trouble when the terminal rotated inside and shorted. The little ones as above are great
