BDLM/NCA, call them on 0208 510 9010. Dead helpful, but a full set of drivers for a pair of X-tros came to about £900 last time I checked.

BDLM for 18Sound and Bluearan/PAP for B&C.  You might however be able to find 18Sound equivalents for the 8" and certainly the 1" driver.

8NM610 might be an option and any of the 18Sound 1" drivers should do it.

Alternatively you could go all B&C and use the 15NW76 instead of the 15ND930 as they're equivalent.  I use the B&C and it's a good driver.

Going all B&C is probably the easier option as the 8" is the most critical driver out of the three.

I'd agree with chris here, the mid is probably the most critical of the three driver types and you're more likely to find other B&C drivers that'll do the 15's and 1" job as well than find an 18sound driver that's ideal for the mid horn design. Besides easier and better to correct a couple anomalies in midbass or very high end area than slap bang in the middle of the vocal range IMO

Hello,

Micrea from this forum used affordable 15" from P-Audio for the X-tro and reported this worked very well.

Best regards,

Walt

i did consider going for all b&c but as you can appreciate these are not the cheapest cabs to load which is why i was tempted by the Kappa, i dont usually rate eminence at all but the cheapest ive seen the 18sound was ridiculous like £190 in conparison with the kappa's at £70.....a saving of £120 of each driver is very tempting and it dosnt appear as if anyone has tried this yet.

if i cannot find the 18sounds cheaper then i will try the eminence and report back on results.

walt, i belive the p-audio driver was a wn15s, i think. had a look for a uk dealer but coudnt find one. if anyone has any ideas on that i would be interested.

regards
chris

The price on a 15ND930 from NCA/BDLM is about £140 inc VAT but you have to contact them to get the actual price.  Their pricelists have the retail list prices, not what they'll actually sell them for.

You might just have to accept you'll have to pay shipping from more than one supplier if you want to get the best deal on the components.

Btw, if you want to save a few £££ get the DE250 rather than the DE500.  Performance will be the same but the ferrite magnet on the 250 saves you about £40!

I have the DE250's and I think they sound fantastic. Best 1" I've heard. Must admit I haven't played with the DE500 but if it sounds better than a DE250 it must be pretty special.  They're wasted at the moment in some XM15 style cabs.
