carnival was good :)
fraid i haven't seen measurements for this. the kick section is dual 12" i believe, quite different from an xtro i reckon. no parallel (almost straight) 15" horns and i'm guessing the CD horn would compromise how the top kick horn works more than in the xtro. i wonder whether the sharper bend in the 12" horns would mean they wouldn't play as high as nicely? plus the gap between acoustic centres is larger than in xtro as saul mentioned. maybe to compensate the 8" horn should be lengthened slightly to get lower and phase plugged to maintain correct dispersion higher in the range? i'd like to know what the differences between the two designs would sound like, this is a nice looking design ![]() autograff click quote on his post and it should work. |

its a nice idea, but i think i'd try and mount the 1" in the 8" horn.
Also having the 15" horns apart - wont that reduce performance? Also i dont think it'd offer any improvements on the existing design.

putting the 1" in the 8" horn would completely mess up dispersion and expansion i reckon.
i believe this is a dual 12" design, looks like it uses more compression to achieve roughly the same frequency range as the 15"s in the xtro. saul the only improvement is that this is a smaller, lighter, cheaper cab. but its a harder build, not as loud in the kick region, not as optimal in terms of driver layout imo. |

aaaahhhh but not if you mounted it in a shell so it worked as a phase bung.
