Just a quick question before an auction ends Big smile Does anyone know the rough dimensions of this Mid Bass flare? and whether it takes a 12" or 15" Fane?:

Magic Ian, thanks.  Probably not for me then - somebody is selling a couple of pairs for £100 a pair, saw the ASS sticker and lost control - again! LOL

Originally, they were built to go on top of 4560's of which we did bucket loads. It is a 12" cab  and originally would have had an RCF mid speaker installed. These were built from '78 onwards.

Mmm, 2 x 4560 a side, with one of these on top, then a big radial horn.
All with modern drivers and maybe the 4560's modded for 18's.
Would make a nice band rig.
It just is.

Later we developed a technique where the badge would swivel and adjust automatically. We were way ahead of I-Phone.

PA was fun back then....you could get those 4560's to sound really nice with the correct choice of driver, and a bit of eq....Gauss 4580 chrome-dome springs to mind,Celestion powercel 250 was another,or the JBL k140 or k145.
Be seeing you.

You want to hear some 4560s with PD1550s inside Ian-----I stood back in amazement and it takes a lot to impress me nowadays.

The 4560 was such a workhorse speaker for so many PA companies. Most of the ones we made went to Germany. Every six weeks a lorry would leave. They were sold into a buying group called the gig group. organized by my old mate Mick Webb. Holland had quite a few as well. Tasco always had a good display.

You have to think of future generations, get some young loons and train them up in crafting wooden sheets into things of beauty.
