Topic: Modelling BMS in Punisher Help!Posted: 15 March 2011 at 6:18pm |

I've been trying to get my head around hornresp and having a play around by trying the BMS 12n630 in the punisher but I'm sure I'm going wrong somewhere, maybe you guys can help?
![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us As for as I can tell the AT parameter shouldn't be there and I can't seem to remove it. Also I'm not sure about the driver arrangement or the chamber settings. Any help would be appreciated. |

ATC < Sd means the throat is smaller than the speaker's cone surface.
It's OK |

I didn't say the driver would work
I only said the error is absolutely normal in this design because it has a high compression ratio |

Hi, thanks for the reply's. It was the AT parameter under F12 that I am worried about as I've looked at other copy's of the Hornresp input for the Punisher and that's not there it's replaced by F23. I'm worried this may be skewing the results. As things stand this driver can't do it's rated 600 watts in this cab and exceeds xmax at two differents points by about 6mm. I'm a real newbie at Hornresp so if someone else wants to give a try, maybe they'll be more accurate than me.

Dont worry about that, its just a newer version of hornresp your using, if you stick the mouth area 2700 into S2 you will get rid of it.
That BMS 12" looks alright for the punisher at first glance, if the cone is up to the job, it wont have the power handleing of the Ciare though as it only has a 3" coil. Im not seeing your problems with the xmax, looks ok to me , might have to use a higher hpf than with the ciare but i think it will be fine. Issue is if the cone is robust enough. |

Your problem is youve got a port on there, double click on AP and LPT so you get FR and Tal, i wouldent worry about putting anything in just leave them zero

Nice one timebomb, I'll do that in a bit and have another look. Is the only way to find out about the cone to test it ?

You could ask Tony if he recons its strong enough, the Ciare one is pritty thick with very little flex, others have got away with other drivers and the mms is quite high so it might be ok. only way to be 100% sure is to run it and see if it breaks.

Just leave it zero, S2 is the end of the first section of the horn and the biggining of the 2nd section of the horn, as your moddleing the horn as 1 section, (2700cm2 is your mouth area so the end of the horn) there is no need to use more than one section.
It dosent matter if the AT paramiter is there or not, it dosent affect the simulation, its just to give you some more info if you need it, i think its for optomising throat angles for HF drivers so no use for a bass horn. |

Ang should be 2.0 x pi unless you want to know what 4 cabs will do?
drivers get hot in the punisher, something to think about, could get very expensive blowing BMS drivers |
