THE LEE THOMPSON SKA ORCHESTRA 
plus DJs DON LETTS & MISTAH BROWN (Tighten Up) 
@The Queen Of Hoxton, 1-5 Curtain Rd, London - 7pm to 12am 
£12.50 adv +£1 booking fee 


Phoenix City Rec. Co (Cherry Red) & The London Intl Ska Festival have teamed up to bring London the hottest new monthly club night... the finest Ska, Rocksteady, Soul & Reggae is the order of the day, with world class bands & boss DJs all happening in the intimate & superb Queen of Hoxton venue. 

The launch night see's The Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra, starring Lee & Bedders from Madness plus DJ's Don Letts, and Mistah Brown of Tighten Up club night fame. Only 200 tickets are available so grab yours fast.

One of the best shows I've been was The Skatalites in the mid 90s at Ronny Scotts in Birmingham... with Roland Alphonso and Tommy McCook still in the band.  As you say 4D... legend

October's installment of the Phoenix City Social Club see's not one but two legends of Jamaican music perform... the voice of Double Barrel & one of the finest soul singers the island has produced... MR.DAVE BARKER and a true 'foundation' singer who's work spans the R&B, ska, rocksteady & reggae eras... MR.OWEN GREY... plus London's rocksteady practitioners THE SIDEWALK DOCTORS and DJs tba. Again there will only be 200 tickets available. Big Things happening!!

Yes- thats a line-up ..... haven't seen Mistah Brown (or any of the tighten Up crew) for yonks. Dunno if they're playing 'longside Gladdy Wax at carnival).

Reckon there's a good chance big names from Jamaica will be passing through also .... like Dennis Alcapone for instance :-)

Please note there's been some changes to the club night... the launch night with The Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra show on 21 Sept stays the same, but from then on we're taking over Queen of Hoxton every first Wednesday of the month.... so here's the new dates...
