I am planning to buy one for my system but I'm afraid if the problem was not yet resolved... thanx! I'm waiting for your wild reaction//// ![]() |

As far as I can tell all of the previous units have been built with the crappy ribbon cable. This either works OK and gives no problems or causes loads of intermittent grief.
On the 2 units that I have replaced the front to back 26 way cable, they have both been perfect since. I would still buy one of the original units but would factor in the possiblity of having to have the one ribbon cable changed. When they finally go on sale again I suspect that this fault will have been addressed. I cannot imagine the number of units that must have been sent back faulty. Tony If anyone needs any help with a Berry Digi X just PM me. Tony Edited by wilkee - 19 April 2006 at 4:17am |

aren't behringer also being sued at the moment because the ultra drive is very similar to some one elses product, isn't that the reason why they aren't being sold at the moment

how about this:
Instead of using Behringer DCX2496, can I used Behringer CX3400 crossover combined with Ultragraph Pro EBQ 6200 equalizers and Composer Pro-Xl MDX 2600 limiter/gate/compressor....? Is there a big difference? Or what cAN you suggest for my rack... I want it simple yet packed with many features like most especially the speaker protection, good sound quality, precise limiters everything that would make your system last.... and eheeem take note not too expensive huh... pls help me decide on what to use... for better sound quality and reliabilty.... ![]() |

Both Peavey and BBE have PA processors now, in multiple configurations, 2x4, 2x6, 4x8. All these feature remote PC control and are configurable in any matrix like the DCX. Can't comment on quality or price... |

The Peavey is in the same price range as the DBX Driverack PA. I couldn't find a price on the BBE. Jim Thought I better add, the Berry unit shows available in the US early May. Edited by Jimbo - 20 April 2006 at 2:48pm |

buying a nice lms now will save you money in the long run. if you think about it all your signals are sent into or created by these devices and if you go down the route of cheap compressor and x over and eq your just going to be adding more noise into the signal path theefore having crappy sound. Just save then spend a bit more money on the mixer and lms and you would be suprissed how much nicer it will make your whole rig sound thats what i would do Bryan |

be fair bryan, the dcx sounds much better than it's meagre price
would suggest... you just have to live with the annoying drop outs (but only people like rich adjust it in the middle of a gig with a guest dj playing) and deal with the fact that it may go a bit behringer on you at some point or other and you'll have to replace the ribon cable. big deal. i have 3 and i'll probably get more. i am all for spending out on mixer though, i have a rane and notice if there's anything "less" at the front end, plus, and i lose count of how many times a month i say it someone or other, replace needles frequently. oh my golly goodness, replace needles frequently. or the bunny gets it. james. |
