Plan taken down while changes are being made, and will be up after first prototype built.
Point of this exercise was to produce scoop similiar to superscooper, but simpler/cheaper to build, with slightly larger chamber/throat. "This time", the design drawing is an exact scaled down version, but proportionately correct, so constructed model will look as drawing. EDIT:Height=1170mm, Width=636mm (25"), Depth=880mm The dimensions are measured by software, Comments, criticisms, possible improvements, all very needed "before" some builds it. Regards. Yes. But I'm a newbie when it comes to this drawing lark HBL, you are the guy on the CAD front.
EDIT. I'm guessing 380mm rear board will allow most scoop drivers to play well expecially TurboMax, PD1850/Bline 800/V18-1000/Volt. With reflex drivers (V18-1200,PD186/18Sound) Maybe preferring but not needing board length of around 365mm Ideally you want rear board as long as driver can take for optimal SPL, but If you extend rear board too much, sub maybe thrown too far or you may stifle looser/reflex drivers. ok i was gonna say why dont you make the rear chamber bigger by using the space behind that first 45 deg bit as its wasted space anyway.
does this make sense
and what exactly is the width?

I understand what you're saying, but the chamber should be big enough for all the top drivers to perform. Dont want chamber too big, or PD1850 Xmax will be all displaced well before 1kw is applied to cab (if it is run from 35-70hz) However, if its Ok with Tony, it would look best with double front edging, and double cross brace as per ASS. (Acoustically Sexy Speakers).
Exactly what I was thinking, but didn't know how to illustrate it correctly. Edited by levyte357 - 28 January 2008 at 10:53pm |
