Can someone correctly identify this driver. Yes I know the make and model but there seems to be some confusion on intended use. Ie is it a sub, bass, or mid driver. Frequency response and specs? Any ideas on recommended crossover points?

Worth using for anything? I thinking maybe two way active cabs?

Hey Sam, A quality bit o kit in it's day. PA75-314 rated at 150W continuous or so! weird!

Billy Woodman the designer and ATC are about 5 miles from here. A very helpfull company.

There are a few variants of the PA75-314. Popular with many.

I can't read the code in the pic. Either way try the ATC website.

The PA75 is an old but well respected driver,   they come in many many different verisons ... usually I have seen them in low-mids .. 200-1500 hz ... but your one is marked "bass" .. so dunno, might go lower. generally though, consider them as a low-mid.  they work quite nicely in a 2x12 angled mid of around 100 litres.

To be honest, you will probably get more quids selling them on to someone wanting to repair their martin box with an original driver ... and buy something more modern and have cash left over ...
My girlfriend thinks I'm a stalker.
Well, she's not exactly my girlfriend yet ...

I have some  PA 75-314 Bass LCR units here which are duff. They need a recone if any help. You can fit an LC recone in them.

Some years back we had many customers with Bose 302 'bass bins.' The drive units were made by Eminence, even though Bose UK argued to death to the contrary. No recone, so replacement. This was as usual a stupid price from Bose. I fitted PA75-314 Bass LCR units in. WOW.

Once the Bose area manager and an American guy were out looking at venues with lots of their kit in. They were amazed by the depth and volume of the bass. I quickly took the back off and shone a torch in. ATC!!

The American guy said it was illegal. No surprise. The English guy refused to deal with us again as we had 'spoilt' their reputation. Good was about all I can recall from that.

Eventually most of these boxes had to be screwed and glued back together from the ATC thumpers. That was the year I made a working scale model of the Bose Cannon. It was on display at Plasa on the LSD stand. It had on it 'OSMA BETTER SOUND THROUGH DRAINPIPES'

Dont be put off by the "75 watts" power handling, old skool sound guru Ken Dibble tested these for L&Si back in the day,and found them quite stable and free from distortion at double the rated figure.
Be seeing you.

The double half roll suspension indicates that it is the "bass" version, and it would be OK in a 2-way (12" + horn) full range cabinet. Or if you only have the one, maybe make a small drum sub for your monitor system.

The power rating in modern terms is 300 watts. I believe the original 75/150W rating was based on a distortion measurement. Bill Woodman used to say speakers could be rated at "100 watts per inch of voice coil diameter" as a rule of thumb.

One of the best things about ATC, apart from being very nice people, is the low cost of their recone servce.

I have a pair of them and some powersoft modules. What would be an ideal upper crossover point? I'm think 2.2k might be a bit high?
