Ive just sold 2 x PD1850s and 2 x V1200 drivers, but what i found interesting was how many people wanted or inquired about what.

Only 2 people rang about the Voids BUT it seemed like everybody wanted the PDs.
The condition of the PDs were a bit shabby yet the Voids were virtually new.
The PDs sold on the same day of listing and the Voids took alot longer.
Even people i dont chat to anymore rang n pm'd me constantly about the PDs!!

Thought it would be an interesting excercise to discuss why this was the case?

PD1850s have been around longer than Void V18-1200s, that's all.

V1200s dont seem to have taken off yet, theres not very many cabs designed around them atm, can you remember that steven guy who bought them and then was trying for ages to find a cab to put them in?

I think the PD1850 is a more versitile (spelling) driver.. fits  / works in more boxes.

The V1200 seams to be a large reflex or scoop driver to me... hence only limited uses.

If you had V18-1000s... I think they would have sold easier... (for example... I could be tempted by 4 x V18-1000 or 4 x PD1850s at the right price at the moment... but I'm not interested in the V1200 as I don't have scoops).

Stephenwconcannon bought some v18-1200s and then found out first hand how difficult it is to find a cab for them.

Must be that the PD is a more robust driver and compatible in more different types of boxes.
I reckon if there were more boxes suitable to the V1200 then it would have sold like hotcakes.

Just spoke to a friend of mine who does recones n stuff n hes got a PD on the bench at the moment n i think i might just take the V1200 down there and do some tests coz into that kinda stuff. What do you guys reckon?

Not to sure really, we was saying stuff about distortion levels, pink noise, rms, max displacement, etc

Dont really know to much about it myself but it sounds interesting and if anybody else wants results then i might just take my V1200 down there

I don't know about the PD being more robust than the void. But I agree that no1s found the right cab yet. Maybe we need to rework the super to make the 1200 sing.

Sorry what i meant is the Void has a lighter flimsier cone, so the PD would be more suited to real bass application boxes.

Ive owned 3 V1200 drivers, still got one and my personal opinion is;

I dont think it could take more than 700w before it pops!

Thats why im seriously considering doing these bench tests
