Hey, I was wandering if anyones fitted replacement drivers in Martin audio EM56 ? blew the voice coil on a couple and am looking for an affordable replacement while maintaining or improving on the sound.
If not, anyone tried reconing them and how did that go?

Don't think the drivers were anything special.
How much do you want to spend and which speaker brands can you buy easily/good deals?

Probably a good idea to have a chat with the guys at Bluearan.
Measure the existing cut-out because what you don't want to do is choose a new driver that requires one a couple of mm bigger, that would be annoying! If you're on a budget and not looking for anything too special, might be worth considering the P.Audio E10-200S. Otherwise it's Fane Sovereign or if they fit the Sovereign Pro. You're not going to get into the range of the bigger brands until you're spending closer to £100/driver. P.Audio stuff is generally pretty good on the value for money stakes. |

I would try the P audio drivers. I have use quite a few and have been impressed with them for the money.

unless you have an undamaged driver and want to measure the T/S parameters to find a modern equivalent, just get them reconed. otherwise you may need to start adjusting the crossover to get the same response. I guess the orginal drivers were RCF but don't know if they were a standard model or OEM.

Martin use B & C, Celestion, 18 sound, Clare, RCF and also stuff from the French company who's name for some reason eludes me. I believe the EM series used a mix of Celestion and RCF.
