Best rubber feet ?

   What are best rubber feet that people are using for large bass cabs ? Everything that is for sale seems to be very cheap and low grade, looks like the centre bolts would almost just rip themselves out. any ideas chaps ? I'd like to recess them into the next cab as well so they can't be too deep.

	Rubber feet are nothing but a pain in the arse on any type of cabinet but on hefty bass bins they are even worse. They make van loading so awkward it is untrue as you cannot slide cabinets about easily and stacking cabinets up in the back of a van is virtually impossible. They rip off cabinets very easily as well even when fitted with M6 bolts. If you are really on a mission to use rubber feet then rebate them into the cabinet so that only 5mm is sticking out but you will still have all of the above problems. If you are having problems with gear moving or sliding about then it is far better to use rubber matting between stuff as it can be cut to size to suit the shape of cabinets.

	There is certainly a gap in the market for some decent feet. Tbh the feet on void cabs are perfect. Just need to get something like that for sale in the world.

	Instead of using rubber feet, how about plastic skids? These are used by SSE on their flight cases and possibly some of the speakers they build. The 2 x 15" bass cabs I have from Inspired Audio use skids - they're not just surface mounted but firmly fixed into a routed channel. Makes them much easier to move and stops the panel getting scuffed. 	Yeah, having both plenty of Void feet and plastic based skids, I'd go for the latter on newer boxes – cut in a way to allow stacking in any direction of course.. It allows them t lock in place when stacked but prevents the gripping anything to death issue in vehicles etc. Of course, it does then also allow boxes to slide about on smooth floor surfaces a bit easier, but you can never win em all.

	The slipping around on hard surfaces is my main worry with the harder plastic solutions. Do they move about at a gig ? That would just be awful 😩

	Depends on the weight of the sub/stack. In singles, laid down, the TH118 has enough output to start to walk on heavier notes but that's a 63kg box. Put another on top, or strap a couple together, or put a rubber mat under the skids no issues. Edited by toastyghost - 23 January 2018 at 8:21am

	The long thin plastic’y skids on our WS18X ‘s seem to have just the right amount of grip - lock together well and haven’t noticed any bins sliding about - that’s a 50kg box. We’ve retrofitted them to our BlacklineX210’s with a shallow machined groove so they don’t twist / break off or get caught.
