Hello!
I found these speakers. They were made by hand in the eighties. They were used in a disco at that time and stored in a storage room since then for 35 years. Do you think it's worth going to test them? I can put xlr input easily They ask me € 90 for each speaker. Each speaker is composed of: -2 x Beyma CP-22 (Twitter) -1 x Beyma CP/350 -1 x Fane 11" 8 h (guitar speaker?? he tell me 200w) Crossover - Beyma f100 60x40x65cm. He told me that he used to use a 400w amplifier to move them Edited by sistema de sonido - 13 September 2018 at 3:17pm |

90€ is not a bad price.. hard to build similar cabs for the same money.. if they suit your needs - well thats another question. Up to you..

Check out the cost of the components. The tweeters are around £70.00 each, Compression driver is an older model, but current equivalent costs £50.00, 12" Fanes are old but still make good money. Even the crossovers are £20.00 each, plus a couple of horns.
Buy 'em, try 'em, if you don't like 'em break up and sell components on Ebay.

The Beyma F100 crosses at 6.3 kHz,which is great from the compression driver to the tweeter. There should also be a filter between the 12" and the compression driver. If that's not there you need another filter or filter them actively (more complex and costly).

The cabinet looks like it´s in good condition. If everything works, then 90€ looks cheap to me. See what Markie says. "There should also be a filter between the 12" and the compression driver." That is the only worry here - unless the F100 has been placed between the 12" and comp driver. In that case, the xover point is way to high and needs to be lowered. Also, the cabinet obviously needs a sub underneath. |

Thaks for reply. I want to pair then with 200w subs. And i want to use a 4way active crossover. 1 chanel for sub, 1 chanel for fane driver and 1 chanel for the 3 beymas with his f100.
My main question is to know if such old components (from 1980) can give sound quality, or if they lose quality over time. Edited by sistema de sonido - 14 September 2018 at 1:51pm |

I have many vintage speakers and they all sound very nice, dub specialist sound on here has a lot as well, if yours are in good condition and crossed over correctly you will be surprised how good they are, if they were here I would buy them straight away, good luck and let us know how you get on

Im running jbl 4530’s with 15” jbl from the early nineties which had years of abuse, paired with beyma bullits. They ding. You cant imagine how older quality material can sound, you will be surprised, but also: listen and learn over here. The people can help you when something doesn’t work out directly

Definitely. Just look at the prices stuff like the old Tannoys, for example, fetch. Crazy, but sound quality is amazing. The HF units may lose a bit of 'zing' with time, but the Beyma diaphagms are still available, so you could always replace those. |

As above, I run old JBL 2241's in my bass bins and even older Fane Studios in my mids, the only modern drivers in my system are the BMS comps, older drivers are typically much more efficient and arguably better sounding IMO.
Edit; Actually, theres no argument when it comes to the Fane Studio mids, they just sound better... Edited by njw - 15 September 2018 at 11:45pm |

Got to agree, got some 2 x 10 Celestion g10s, Ken Huges passive xover and Fane bullets, they just sound beautiful.
