Hi guys, standard scoop talk

Quick questions, we have a half stack with 2x scoops running Eminence Omega Pro's and I'd like to upgrade as they are tired. I went straight to the PD1850's however new they break the bank so I've found myself in the following situation:

Plan 1 = buy 2x PD1850's second hand and hope they work
Plan 2 = buy 2x blown pd1850's, new recone kits and pay someone to recone them
plan 3 = Go cheaper and get something like 2x Void V18-1000

What do you reckon?

Boxes: 2x 18" Super Scoops, 1x dual 15" reflex, 2x Bandpass & Reflex top boxes
Amp: Void infinite 8
Usage: Dub, Steppas, Jungle
Budget: Max spend £600. (It's not my money so it's need to be a solid plan)

Cheers, Frosty

out of topic and maybe silly question, but what does it mean that the drivers are tired?

1850 not good in Supers.

Get Voids.

Bow to your superior experience, but was the super scoop not originally designed for 1850 driver, mk1 version at least?
I'd understand if better options have come along since 2002.

Maybe they are designed to do good 60hz  with 1850, but with Voids unmodified Superscooper plays proper.

Afaik, the super was designed to be stacked x6 minimum with 1850s loaded. The coupling brings the cutoff down, but means it needs tighter drivers (1850).

Nothing to do with coupling mate, plenty of drivers sound great in Scoopers, but 1850 is not one of them.

Put 1850 in ASS, SteveB, Wattco, Stravens, completely different story.

This is 2019, there are plenty of other drivers to try out as opposed to obsolete old PD1850s.

Modifying dog leg will allow 1850 to play well.

But Void V18-1000 in these is simplest effective solution.
