Bridging an RMX1450 per sub at 900W 8R bridge wouldn't be such a bad idea as a short term solution if you already have them.  Two 2450's would give you more headroom but would have to be used more carefully because with high duty cycle bass you could get the drivers pretty toasty!

A larger sub amp would be the better solution and allow you to expand your system in future.

The RMX2450 really doesn't like to bridged mono at 4ohms on bass, QSC actually built the same amp with a few tweaks specifically for this use... it's called the RMX1850HD.

What cabinet design are your subs? Why do you think you need kicks? What mid/tops do you have? If you want one amp to do your subs, I’d be looking at QSC 5050. Some more info on the rest of your system would help to determine the most useful amps for now and in the future. Your 1450s are only useful for comp driver duty or for very small mid/top, unless you bridge them, then they could run 1 8ohm medium format mid/top, at a push.

So we have 2 x rcf 1201's mid tops- I think they would be sufficient with 4subs and 2 mids. The reason I think we need mids is because we are obsessed with bass, adn want to provide a quality sub /bass sound.

The subs we have look like std ported design. The speakers are P Audio P15 2226 drivers. When we bought them we were led to believe they were 600w..but looking at the specs I feel a bit dumb as they are 1000w AES, so are easily going to handle 2.4kw bridged if they are in series...the question is more will the amp :) but defo I am underdriving everything right now. We did a party few weeks ago, and to be fair the amps did not even get warm after 15 hours of trying to push out max vol......but it took a while to get a eq to bring half decent bass..

in fact the P audios are on offer at £135 at blue aran so I am well tempted to buy 2 more and build those other cabs I am planning on...( my partners in crime will bollock me when they read this... :) )

Just going through this process of asking is proving really useful, and I think I am understanding more that the rms is not the max a speaker can handle, but you want to consider say 50-100% more as head room ?

Ok, so if this was my rig, for the moment, I’d probably be using the 1450s in bridge on each bass bin and the 2450 on the mid tops. If you’re after big fat bass, then more of the same cab is the way to go. Reflex bins will easily meet your mid/tops, in terms of frequency response. Don’t complicate things unnecessarily. When adding more bins, flog the 1450s and replace with a “big boy” amp.
Nothing is foolproof because fools are so ingenious

Starting to understand this a bit better- so even if an amp is rated at say 700qw @ 8ohm, if the amp is not designed with meaty enough Capacitors to ensure a consistent "reservoir" of power, then it will struggle....My mate also explained about 3 phase, and that why eth "proper" amps use that due to the huge power consumption... certainly got my eyes on a few amps...

If you want to compare amps based on caps: Yes but only comparing transformer to transformer. Impulse power supplies work with thousand times more often charging cycles plus some recycle energy coming from speaker inductance.
Call them first and find out if they have in stock..

Audio amplifiers using a 3 phase supply directly are uncommon.
Keep pushing on, things are gonna get better.

Sorry I wasn't clear on 3 phase as a power supply- I mean where a 63 amp cable supplies from a generator or 3 phase, which would be the case in a big venue ?

the amp itself usually runs of 240, but might take 16a or more is what I understood.. the 3 phase thing is a red herring really..for now I need to stick to amps with a normal plug on it I think until I have my head around the basics.

I also looked at eth FFA 6004- would eth 6004 do 4 600w RMS subs nice ? I suspect it would, but worth checking my assumptions - promise- last post
