am also looking forward to it.

expect great hosting and some special selections being played.
Gorilla has generally been alright for noise levels so they shouldn't be too hindered in that respect.
Rig these days is Qualitex built. obscene potential output cheekily crammed into a relatively innocuous looking stack.
It's also been organised by Dub Conductor so hopefully they'll be playing also.

Take earplugs. Good ones. Mark is no stranger to a LOT of HF.

Subs are a modified 18sound dual 21” band pass design, prodigious output in a relatively narrow band.

Cheers.

I thought the subs were scoops.. (I've only seen a few pictures: https://authgram.com/p/B2WNORFFraG).

What's in the rest of the boxes?

Did anyone go last night? Thoughts?
I went, had a great night, great music.
It was over an hour late starting, they said it was on verge of getting called off after sound tests where they were told it was too loud!! So not sure if they weren't able to crank it up as much as they could but either way it still sounded impressive, the bass was impressive!
Does anyone know where you can go where there are no sound limits to hear sound systems running as they should be?

Bit late to the party...
Places to go:
Teachings in Dub, Bristol
University of Dub, London
Blackamix's Dub School, Bedford
Dub Cub, Leicester (& others)
One Dub, Birmingham

Bristol, Leeds, Nottingham and the Midlands generally have a good scene and more tolerance to sound levels... from what I can make out anyway. Southampton & Reading also have some stuff going on, worth keeping an eye out

Wish I could count Brighton in, but the Concorde has now banned soundsystems from playing and only accepts DJ sets. A real shame. I can't think of a venue here that is system friendly and has capacity.

Heard Irations new(ish) box's, nice weight but didn't seem to push the bass to the middle of the dance. Only one stack of four, so couldn't have been canceling out, maybe a venue thing. I must admit to being sceptical about musicality maybe due to a narrow bandwidth.
Freedom of choice, choice of freedom.

It's not fair to compare different sound systems in different environments.  Some (or most) venues might have horrible room acoustics producing lots of cancellations, null points etc. problems.

Iration never have big enough individual stacks (only 4 wide) to get directivity happening on the bass. So the scoops should "throw" just as far, or not, as the bandpass bins.

Last time I heard Iration must be nearly 10 years ago and I'm not that keen to repeat the experience, in fact I think my right ear's never been the same since! (despite using disposable plugs) it's TOO. BLOODY. LOUD.
