Hi all,

Thanks in advance for any advice you all may have for me!

My friends and I want to start building a small rig for use at small/medium parties and light outdoor use. We've never built anything before but between us have good knowledge of the woodworking and electrical.

We want to build some full range speakers first to see if we can pull it off.

Firstly, is this design of any use?

Something simple like this that can house all 3 of the components ideally is what we're after.

We're on a budget so I had a look at some well priced drivers and came up with some of these, would they be appropriate for this kind of enclosure and also together? I understand we'd need a 3 way crossover for this kind of design, but would a smaller mid woofer like I've linked be necessary? I added it because of the lack of overlap between the woofer upper freq and the lower of the tweeter, and thought that you wouldn't want to run the subwoofer into that high a frequency anyway.

15" woofer  http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=FANSOV15400LF&browsemode=manufacturer - http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=FANSOV15400LF&browsemode=manufacturer
6" mid woofer  http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=FTP6FE200AF&browsemode=manufacturer - http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=FTP6FE200AF&browsemode=manufacturer
Tweeter  http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=BMACP12N&browsemode=manufacturer - http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=BMACP12N&browsemode=manufacturer

If these aren't good, any appropriate alternatives around that price would be appreciated!

That's all for now, cheers

Ollie
