Most P-Audio models now have an MOQ of 50 pcs, and due to various 'factors' the pound seems to have suffered a sharp drop against the dollar compares with 2-3 years ago. On top of this, P-Audio have increased the $$ prices of some models a little, the 2 factors together have nudged the prices up a fair bit, and to keep P-Audio competitive, we've had to drop margins. Its not viable to have a low margin product on the shelf for long period of time, it needs to sell through relatively quickly, so we've had to make a few 'harsh' decisions. E15-600S may come back into stock, we're waiting to see what happens with exchange rates over the coming months. |

From what I can work out, these decisions are mainly 'accounting decisions' - when they first launched the Sovereign series, they hit the market with quite an extensive range, over time, the 'favourites' have risen, and some of the less popular models have fallen, and the ones that have faced the chop are the ones that essentially are not viable to stock. Prices everywhere in the supply chains have gone up, steel, magnet materials, copper, wages, shipping costs, and manufacturers are, where possible, trying to keep products at a competitive price point. Most drivers have to be manufactured in batches of 100, 200 or more to be built at a competitive price, and then shipped over to Europe and stored in a warehouse. If you only sell 5 or 10 a month, a batch of 200 is going to last a long time, and thats a lot of money tied up, and a lot of warehouse space used up for perhaps 1-2 years. Fane have streamlined, with the focus going towards the slightly higher power models (where there seems to be more demand) and they have also tried to make space for some new improved models in the market. Its difficult to keep launching new models every 1-2 years, and still maintain the existing back catalogue. |

What cabs are they for?
For a fairly decent value-for-money mid-top there's the E15-300S http://bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=PAUE15300S&browsemode=manufacturer For compact 15" reflex subs for example, the E15-600S was pretty good when I tried some a few years ago. http://bluearan.co.uk/index.php?manufacturer=P-Audio&masthead=Loudspeaker_Drivers&subheadnew=15_Inch_Drivers Unfortunately they don't seem to stock them any more. If you can give us some info on the cabinets there might be some other suggestions. |

I've just been looking at cheap 15" drivers.. noticed on blue aran site the fane 15-400 are saying discontinued.. checking on fane's site it seems the 15-400 and 15-400lf are now discontinued and presumably other models too..
Does anyone know why this is? Are there new models to replace these ones? I'm reluctant to buy drivers which are being ended in case more are needed in the future.. puts me off, i think i'll have to wait and see where this goes and do some research into on-going drivers..
