Greetings!
Me and a friend are starting are our own soundsystem for reggae/dub and have decided to start building with an 18" Superscoop design. I have already bought the wood and got it cut to size before choosing a driver since i bought the wood without doing enough research Since the plan is made specifically for the PD1850 driver and this things expensive a heck, I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for other drivers that will work just fine aswell in this bin. Thanks in advance!

Mmmmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmmm I have a sense of de ja Vu. You maybe under fire for, just perhaps, not making extensive use of s great forum helpfully known as the'scoop' forum, where many things superscoop have been discussed. And discussed. And discussed. And discussed. Warm bass. Deep bass. Hard brutal bass. Expensive bass. Just saying.

No, i mean do some searching and reading within the scoop forum before asking questions that have been answered many times. It's just good educational fun, and as serendipity applies, you might start learn something

And it's me normally defending bods who get fired for asking such questions when big man like Lev weigh in to say..... Read the friggin forum....lol There is Info the weight of gold in this here forum for those that take time to read. Here is some info. A certain Rog Mogale designed the super for 1850 to be stacked 6 aside, meaning 6 coupled together. In this configuration the coupling is optimall for the 1850. If used 3 aside, the driver is not giving its best (compliance issues) so different drivers were sought and experimented with. Hence many interesting posts about the subject. It's all there to be understood. I have experience with a certain pd driver, but that is my mates system and we don't share that info. Sorry..... He he

If the parameters are real, and the production and quality control is good, it looks like a decent driver. If it is suitable for a scoop, i can't say, let's wait for the "gurus"
