I really can't recommend KRL enough. I send all my pallets with them. Great customer service and the online PalletWays tracking portal is great.

I recently used Shipley for three flight cased Studio-Due city color weighing in at 97kg per case collected from Manchester at 2pm dropped off in Winchester at 10pm. Total cost £ 116.00
I did the research read all the reviews and picked the mid price option with the least negatives All went remarkably well.. |

If you do go down the box & packing route (i have many times with heavy goods via UPS and vary rare to have issue) then a good tip is to take photos of the item being packed & the item when its finished being packed. That way you have good evidence of how you sent it, not just how it arrives if there is a problem...
Decent heavy duty boxes, decent bubble wrap and decent gaffer tape is a must. Double wrap/box everything and insure to full value. |

Also to add to this. Take photo's of the package on the scales, Also with a tape measure to the box. You know just in case UPS try to land ANOTHER charge on you ;) Have had them hold my parcels to ransom claiming they are over size / weight. When I know they are not.

.... a note on insurance. Check the smallprint - many don't actually cover ''used electricals''.
been stung by this before when they smashed up my load. |

can i ask what issues you had with the UPS delivery ? just had a QSC powerlight amp smashed by them , and they have refused my claim for compensation on inspection of the box which they deemed was inadequate , according to UPS it did not have 2 inches of packaging all the way around it. amp was double boxed and extra reinforced cardboard around the corners, plus internal bubble wrap. package
arrived with one corner of the box ripped open , and one of thick
steel rack ears of the amp was completely bent over, this coinciding
with the box tear, amp fails to switch following this Amp was fully insured to 2nd hand value of £500, and declared correctly as a 'music amplifier' Edited by Kobe - 14 January 2020 at 9:42pm |

I had UPS bring me an industrial motor, 3 phase one for my compressor. It arrived with the 12mm thick cast iron foot smashed off.
They collected it again, and stated it would be going back to their depot for “inspection” but what they actually did was send it back to where it came from which they didn’t have my permission to do, then refused Return my motor or refund me I told them they had 2 days to return my property which they did not have my consent to do anything with other than to inspect, or I would consider it to be stolen and report it to police. Eventually I got paid the value of the motor, but I dont think I ever got the money back from ups for the couriering. Absolutely would not do anything to help at all. Paid a Shipley driver to bring it to me,and then had to use the motor with just 3 of its fixings |

probably get away with a euro pallet, cost about £50, or a full pallet at ~£60-70. Usually weights only limited to pallet capacity (<1.5T usually). Usually cheaper from a commercial address, and cheaper again if you can load yourself with forklift or loading bay. Edited by mk2_ginger_biscuit69 - 15 January 2020 at 9:20pm |
