Buying 4x 218s, supposed to be Martin copies, wonder if anyone here can confirm.

Trying to ID optimal drivers.

Looks very similar to Gsub, so obviously on driver list will be,

PD186,
L18P300/L18P400,
18PZB100,
Possibly Oberton 18XB1301

If they were emplying its a copy of a WS218X or a S218 I can confirm they are not!

Does look very G-Sub.

Yep, Just spoke to mate  with plenty real Martin, says these are not copies of any Martin box.

No Biggie, they are cheap enough.

Now wondering, if B&C/RCF reflex 18s, are as strong, as orig PD186.

Yup, ditto, the old martin BSX cabinet from the late 70's. Original drivers were RCF if memory serves.

Google says Martin 18" Driver for this is DLS111, anyone know if this is RCF or B&C driver?

Right, I'm guessing orig driver, was early derivative of L18P300, so easy to acquire similar driver on steroids.

They are easily as strong if not stronger / better.  
L18P400 is one great reflex driver as example and these takes a lot of punishment no problem.
I have punished my RCF L18X400's so scary heavily (many times looking like they will rip apart because of so much brutal cone movement) but they just keep going no matter what.

PD186 has quite small Xlim, so that needs some attention not to destroy the voice coils w/ excessive peak power levels. It has also pretty weak motor for its size and Mms and thus making it even more sensitive for bottoming I think..

Extremely difficult to find PD186 Mk1, so forgetting those.

L18P400 T/S seemed noticeably different to L18P300.

I've found an 18sound driver that fits the bill, so gonna order 2x for a test.

I seem to recall people plonking the old Fane Collosus from the 1980's in these as a replacement for the RCF's with good results.
