Negative waves!

Surely this should be seen as a good opportunity?
With no competition, if you take the risk and it comes off, you can charge a premium for tickets and establish yourself with a broader market?

I am terminally optimistic though....

At the moment in the south of the netherlands the virus is gaining ground mostly by gigs like you mention. Mostly under 30s who are testing positive. Gig starts with everything in place and people listening to organisers but enter a few beers and/or NOx and everything goes wrong. The province of antwerp started a curfew from 23.30 for that reason. If you want to run a gig do it
For family And close friends without alcohol. Unfortunately people acting as a herd are no fun to deal with if you are opposite to them..best thing to do is to wait for a real solution and then throw the best party ever as a way of opening your business and leave a lasting impression instead of beeing that guy that ran a show in which people got infected which transfered the virus to a nursing home..

I'm on a gig at the moment, billed as the first uk socially distanced festival. It can be done, but it's a big risk. We have been open for a month, and have another month of programming booked. I'm glad it's not my money on the line...

That's very interesting, I hope it goes well.

It looks like a very wide and shallow audience area, so what have they done for sound coverage? Is there a very wide PA system, or is it all broadcast / streamed to smartphones over FM radio or WiFi with people wearing earbuds, like a silent disco?
