It’s more than enough for any of mine thank-you, more than enough.
My largest subs RMS limit at 80V, peak at 170. Standard X4/8 channel does that with ease.

X4 and X8 @1600W/8ohm is not nearly enough for any high power 18. They are not enough for some of higher powered tops out there. I never understood why powersoft killed the K series without a proper replacement.
Yeah there is the X4L but i can buy a new car for that money. And yeah, a customer of mine had 4 of those blow up their PSUs running our subs last summer. So... go be a smart one and figure out where to put your money these days.

No at 2 ohms per channel maybe, at 8ohms per channel it certainly doesn’t have an issue, and at 4 you will be running out of power supply puff if really pushing it
Im still to meet a sub driver that can’t be destroyed in rapid time with a x4 or x8 channel, the X4L is a monster and if you want to run lots of cabs per channel down long cables it can make sense, but personally I’d rather have the flexibility of those other 4 channels After all 8 channels is quite a few, a sound near me runs 2 X8’s, but the whole system( 4 scoops, 4 18”kicks, 2 2x12 mids, 2 2” horns and 2 4 way bullet boxes) runs at full chat on 5 channels of just one of the amps quite happily. It is normally configured across 7 channels with 2 sub and 2 bass. The second amp is for future expansion or as a spare. Its quite formidable now, 8 scoops on both amps is going to be scary…

If money was not an issue, many say the X4L, is the daddy sub amplifier right now. Many have stated, X8, is not optimal for sub on all channels.

X8.
AD 42 does not have DSP, 6 extra channels and until I see a reputable review, honest power. A number of them have power supply issues here. |

U lucky! There's one culprit here using a 430 for 2 ohm bass on all 4 channels!

Not expecting it to do four channels of 4 Ohm sub. But curious if it can do two channel 4 Ohm (nominal) sub and two channel top.

A buddy here got one back in July. It is quite stout! He's using it to drive kicks and tops. So far no issues at all.
