So, for whatever reason, I have some amplifiers to collect from a location, a simple unbolt from rack, carry to van operation, but the site operator (large organisation knee deep in paperwork) wants all the usual method statements, risk asessments etc which I can do ... but also wants on-site insurance cover (in case I destroy their site) and our regular insurance does not cover site work. Ideas?

get a local company to do it for you, probably easiest option? What's the location, happy to do it if close?

Tysers who used to be Doodsons take care of all my insurance needs.
Could probably get it cheaper. But when the poo hits the fan they actually pick up the phone!

If the client wont budge on the insurance requirement then I suppose it's either use a contractor or see if your insurance company will add site work onto the policy.
FOr example I recently renewed my father's insurance, the exclusions stated 'no fixed woodworking machinery' and 'no forklift'. When I said we used both, the insurance company simply deleted the exclusions but the premium stayed the same! |

Get a price off a broker, then charge client, standard on most site work today.
