Separating the boxes makes a lot of sense. Ideally the mid and top should be around head height for good coverage, but the bass wants to be on the floor (lift the bass off the floor and you lose 3dB). So, you are faced with 2 options a) build a pair of 7 foot speaker cabs. b) build a pair of subs and a pair of mid tops.

If you choose the second option it will be much kinder on your back, and the relevant plans are available at www.fane-acoustics.com
If it's got wheels or tits it's gonna cost a fortune

it's gonna be huge and never fit any small vehicle! why not separating subs from midtops?

Hello all,

great forum, hopefully i'll be able to earn my keep soon.

Anywho, down to business, looking to build a pair of custom 3way boxes, loaded wit the following drivers.

18" fane colossus XB - Bass (obviously!)

12" fane crescendo MB - mid

1" fane CD150 compression driver with cheap terralec 10.5" x 4" horn flare - Top

Anyone got any plans for a cabinet to accomodate the 3 SIZED (if its not for those drivers thats fine..) drivers.

Thanks,

Tom
