Hello all,

Long time no chat... Just picked up a pair of speakers loaded with 2x Beyma 12 LX60 (v1). Sound really really good however 1 driver " distorts/flaps" at higher volumes i.e. not quite blown but definitely is getting there.

Really would like to keep the pair and stick with Beyma drivers so my questions are:

a) Seek a recone?

b) Seek a 2nd hand LX12 (v1) unit (as I only need 1 driver) yep I think will be hard to realise?

c) Load with something else?

d) Sell the current pair of drivers if I can, to help buy the v2 version?

Just like everyone I'm on a budget and cant really justify spending around £400 on new drivers so option D is my least favourite....

All advice and guidance much appreciated. Thanks Sam

PS based in London so a RMJ recone really isn't a cost effective option either.

Check the speaker for loose spider, loose dustcap, tear in surround/cone, etc.
If all okay, best look for a second hand one, because recones aren't available anymore.
