Lyonforge, yuk.  If Amstrad made disco amplifiers, this is what it would be like.  Doesn't even have a thermal switch?
Be seeing you.

That's what you'd call a KISS amp! Nice.   LOL

Only thing is that I would like to see more reservoir caps. Looks a bit short there.  Ouch

What are those, 6800uF?

I've seen that on many amps that use those mosfets. Sometimes the leg melts at board level and can burn-out the pcb. I shan't mention any brand names.

Playing last evening with my ST1000i i notticed that right ch sounds kinda funny sometimes, like a imperfect contact or faulty pot,so i start to dig the small issue...just to find two mosfets basically with Drains evaporated lol and the amp was paying like that,23mv offset on the ch and 26mv offset on the left ,,good'' one....never saw this before on any amp:

I just ,,broke'' the remains lol and playing the ch like it is,no more funny sounds and the amp runs cool, however i'm going to remove them all ,,14'' and test them individualy to be 100% sure,i still have more than 20 pairs original Hitachi K1058 and J162 so no problem even to replace all 16 :)

Btw,anyone have any ideea about the difference betwin ST-i series and ST series?? As i have no ideea and the user manuals doesn't help LOL the specs looks the same, internals look the same Ouch maybe the ,,i'' series are capabile 2r? but is not mentioned in the manual, and also the ST1000i already pulls 1kw sinus continuous from 8 pairs of lfet's so in 2r i don't think will manage, unless limited to certain power Smile
