Surprising that one, they look old and well-used, date code is 1996, maybe were mis-labeled as 3773, or maybe seconds?
I did a search for TSL (manufacturer? That nobody seems to have heard of)....opinions seem to be they aren't 3773's but are re-labeled lower spec devices, like 2n3055's etc. Here is the link. https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/tsl-transistors-2n3773-any-good-or-more-fakes.364152/ This is interesting reading. https://sound-au.com/counterfeit.htm Look at the MJ15003 link, is some real shockers on that. https://sound-au.com/fake/counterfeit-p1.htm Edited by jbl_man - 11 June 2022 at 1:52pm |

That was the main reason i bought them in first place, looks old an used, and yes,the date code indicates 1996,but as you can see are proper fakes...more like 2n3055...but fakes as well i've seen that post but after i discovered myself that are ordinary fakes, and this ,,TSL'' ,,brand'' doesn't exist at all.
Yeah...that MJ15003 dual dies looks awesome...they spend more time and materials to make that fake MJ15003 that it takes to make a genuine one

Bloody fakes all over the place...never seen these hitachi's being faked...but now...yeah...even the obsolete 2SJ50 and 2SK135 have clones listed as originals ofcourse...i own more then 20+ amps with these output devices, more then 200 passed thru my hands and not even one had written HITACHI on it,just the Hitachi logo and type of the mosfet, like in the first photo.

Another Crown
Micro-Tech 1200 with a early version main board at 1Khz running just
before distortion creeps up because of clipping. 0.0091 THD (and stable
at that too) I have to keep checking as it's a very low figure. This
was after adjusting bias to 320mV on high and low sides, checking and
adjusting ODEP voltages and adjusting Common Mode Rejection. I was
getting 315watts in 8ohms (International model). The second channel was
also very similar. I'm impressed. |

You don't need to be impressed by the MT series mate, this are proper overengineered amplifiers, you just need to adjust them, clean them, make the solderings again and you have proper bulletproof amplifiers for life, that Macro Reference is a beast...as i was saying before....deep bass = loads of silica dies on heatsinks and proper psu....now i've seen it.
Mmmm funny i must say,i never adjusted the ODEP voltages on any of my MT-s so far, just the bias as it was way off on all of them, however never had any problem with odep so far,how was the ODEP on yours mate? Edited by EmPro - 11 June 2022 at 7:44pm |

I think this MT1200 had a hard life as i'm pretty sure crown didn't fit those parallel resistors there i've seen those resistors blown in a Macrotech 1200 that had a faulty in the driver board as far as i recall, the resistors gave up to save the outputs, the fault was couple of TO92 transistors next to the input sensitivity three way switch.

That Macro reference is a gorgeous amplifier, just look at all that space inside for non-custom, not ruinously expensive, replacement main filter capacitors… :D
