nearly done on the first 1850.

we have a couple of questions concerning internal wiring.

1. what is the recommended wire to wire from the speakon socket to the
driver?

2. we have double speakon sockets and intend to run 4 1850s from one
of the infifnate 8 amps, 2 per channel at 4 ohms. Should we wire these
double sockets in parallel?

cheers.

Yep use high quality 4mm2 OFC speaker cable. Standard quality 4mm2 cable can degrade the sound.

Well that cheapo hifi 79 stand white sheath cable and the red and black high power ICE car audio cable is not OFC.

Actually even OFC copper is still only 99% pure. It actually won't make a difference at 4mm2 that ANY human would ever hope to notice as resistance on such a short piece of wire is so minimal it's not worth worrying about. Copper of reasonable purity that is soldered correctly works just as well. Also being LF only, any change in distortion/output(which will be extremely small) would not be sufficient for our hearing to pick up. Even heavy guage automotive cable will work fine. If it was a 60foot cable then I'd say pay attention, but it's more to do with the amount of copper in the cable.
I even know of a professional PA company here who only uses 1.5mm2 240volt/15amp mains cable for his rather large stacks and mountains of crown macrotechs. He borrowed some high quality cables to test this theory(It was in a 20000 seat basketball stadium-4 way active stacks with approx 8kw/side) and fading between left/right(left side had 4mm2 ofc pro leads about 15 feet long-right had cheap cable about 60feet long) and none of the eight audio pro's and the sound mixing guy's from the radio stations could pick anything AT ALL.
