Rog far from it for me to suggest anything to you
but would it not be easier to have the catches joining the units on the back and front internals so that you can lift each section into place then clamp together....

just a thought....

also as another idea that you will probably shoot down in flames.

there are catches using allen key to clamp in place basically a multi style hook that on a thread turns to catch and the when you further turn the key it winds in on a thread that locks tight will work in the 18mm ply and no flappy bits to rattle....

and another probably usless idea - what about rebating the ends and an external and internal 9mm x 9mm return and have a rubber strip on the internal edge of the internal rebate....

I shall f*@k of now shall I.......

bye

A few years ago we designed a similar concept (M-horn, see www.speakerstore.nl) but this was a folded frontloaded horn instead of rearloaded. For people who have little money but enough time this is an excellent solution to get much bass for little money. We also chose to cut the 18" horn in two modules for easy of transportation.

As far as I know only two people did build our M-horn (they were impressed with the loud deep bass) the main problem is no one was able to find the perfect solution on how to couple both parts of the horn. And how to prevent air leaks and rattles when the modules are on top of each other.

Best regards,

Walt
