spudmiester, you need to get those ears/eyes checked.. as you definitely aren't hearing what everyone else is; maybe you mistook some knockoff Chinese tat for one ? :) ..id book in for a checkup right away; as you may be well on the way to becoming Helen, without the Keller leg to stand on ;)

then again, maybe you like the trashy sound of lesser amplifiers & speakers.. nothing wrong with that. just i wouldnt call the want to hear everything like it went through a guitarists stomp box, a desireable trait for all music.
If that suits you, then please feel free to stick to it. though dont expect that, that is what other people want. Therefore you may wish to think about what defines crap for everyone else & possibly think before you issue up such throwaway comments :)

Frankly, there are few other amps in the league of what andy makes on the sheer whallop, qualilty of sound & engineering that goes into them. it even took me some years of owning one by pure accident, alongside going through many big brands of amps, having them break down & sound less than stellar.. i hadnt at first given it much consideration; i had for my first system bought one to simply use as a mid-range amplifier ..and hadnt contemplated finding more of them at the time as i was under the illusion that the big names really knew what they where doing. and it was the only amp that never broke down, nor sounded objectionable. infact it made the system sound so sweet, that it was hired in preference to other peoples doing the rounds at that time :) Thing is, that amp was already well used when i got it too.. owned and abused by a local hire company & not a single sign of anything having ever being done to it. ..from what andy had to say of it.. its about 20 years old ! ...id like to see anyone elses amps hold up for that long; they just keep on going :)

and here it is; the 2u600:

now, ive got a whole pile of matrix amps ..and everyone else i know is kitting up with them now too; they just keep on going & get the job done ;)

It appears I have touched a nerve.

Did you miss the bit about me saying perhaps it was just MY amps ?

Its a bit like saying ALL BMW's are s*it if you happen to have had bad luck with one once.

As I remember, the interior did not look like the above photo, the front plate did, but not the rest. The chassis was black for a start, there was a powercon for mains, and there was also a built in crossover.

I have fitted/used many amps over the last 15 or so years, Crowns, Crests, Camcos, Chevins,Peaveys, Powersoft, Labs,QSC ......the list goes on. All have their good points as well as bad points. All have failed for some reason at some time.

I have never encountered racks of Matrix in clubs, or on big tours, I am not saying they are all crap, JUST THE ONES I HAD , GET IT.

Nor for that matter am I deaf, and will treat your remark about Helen Keller with the contempt it so richly deserves .

hellen keller ? why she was awesome, whereas if one was any other helen... hmm a helen hunt ? ..well then you're right up the waterspout and in a twist :) aspiring to be a keller is no bad thing :) ..if just one scummy politician found their inner keller, this middle east mess would be sorted in a jiffy :)

..me; i wouldnt listen to a word i's says.. trust me :)
smoke kamels.
sometimes i double login and post wildy inaccurate krap so i can have a massive sl*gging match with myself & and anyone else who cares to join in :) smoke kamels. ..mind, theres only so many times you can punch yourself in the face before you lust after the sweet knuckle crunch of someone elses fist; oh its always sweeter when theres determination :) smoke kamels. id also take what others say with a pinch of salt, god knows what motivates them. smoke benteys. Anyways, enough with the textual massochism, heres some kittens :)

you ever had a chance to do some tests on those amps into a dummy load with a scope and meter?
You're a big man, but you're in bad shape. With me it's a full time job. Now behave yourself.
