basically the 1850 wont fit, but adding a few 2cm to the baffle and it will fit...plus you need to add dampening material to the rear chamber.

So essentially it is just about getting the driver to fit without touching panel 14? Adding 20mm to panel 13 extends it out enough to give it that extra space...
What causes the dampening material to be needed with the 1850 and not with the rcf? I guess the bottom line would be: do you really get that much more out of modding the cab and running an 1850 over the RCF (assuming 4 cabinets being used with a bridged single amp)? |

So adding 20mm to pannel 13 will work? Won't that push pannel 13 further towards the back of the cab? And make the distance from the access pannel to driver shorter? Or am i missing something :s

it will make the baffle longer correct, keep it the same distance at the top, your see there is room to extended it at the bottom of cab, yes it will make this part of the horn smaller, but wont cause any issues. Its been done by a lot of people..

Interesting forum and recent posts regarding part 13. I've built and used these cabinets without any modifications from original plan and loaded them with pd1851s. Result: They perform well in the field and certainly pack power. No real issues at all worth a mention

djcharlyc, to optimise the sbh for the 1850 make panal 13 longer, Startec recommended the mod. Its well documented on other forums...

Can anyone confirm that these are the correct parameters? This sims really badly even with the recommended drivers. According to this a block of 4 of these is less efficient than 4 punishers and less flat even if this plays a bit deeper.

Does no one know if these parameters are legit? or know where they came from?

They came from another thread on here. If you are unsure, then there is no harm in spending some time with a pen and paper to double check the plan and compare.

Is this the only actual measurement on this thread, of 1x of these cabs? Not really interested in optimistic sims. Edited by levyte357- - 31 December 2016 at 3:03am |
