**Topic Rebirth**

I have similar questions. What, if any other drivers than the 18 Sound and RCF would work within this enclosure. RCF have released other 18" drivers since April 2007. Would one of these also meet the task in the 900 - 1200 watt range?

The T&T AK18DSW is an alternative, question is where can we get and information about them or buy them? Google only comes back with forum posts relating to them but never any mention of a company website or contact details.

The RCF LF18G401 900watt, lower power but on stats looks very similar.

**RCF LF18N401:

Thiele/Small Parameters
  • DC resistance: 5.1Ω
  • Mechanical factor: 6.5
  • Electrical factor: 0.27
  • Total factor: 0.26
  • BL Factor: 27.8 T · m
  • Effective Moving Mass: 201 g
  • Equivalent Cas air load: 257 liters
  • Effettive piston area: 0.122 m²
  • Max. linear excursion (mathematical): 8.8 mm
  • Voice - coil inductance @ 1kHz: 2.5 mH
  • Half-space efficiency: 3.01%
**RCF LF18G401:

Thiele/Small Parameters
  • DC resistance: 4.8Ω
  • Mechanical factor: 7.6
  • Electrical factor: 0.30
  • Total factor: 0.29
  • BL Factor: 24.6 T · m
  • Effective Moving Mass: 182 g
  • Equivalent Cas air load: 268 liters
  • Effettive piston area: 0.122 m²
  • Max. linear excursion (mathematical): 8.5 mm
  • Voice - coil inductance @ 1kHz: 2.4 mH
  • Half-space efficiency: 3.09%

Has anyone else been working with these lately and what drivers have you been using? Would it be possible to provide a SPL vs Freq graph?

Edit:

For those looking for the Ande SB18-5 18"  - Currently £223.46 + shipping from Auz

Lovely build by Rafaga and Hornmaster, I see your using a kick horn above them. I questioned this in one of my own topics and was shot down. After seeing the earlier graphs I still dont know how well this performs over the 115Hz Mark.

phase inverter to work correctly?? on what parameters to select the speaker in the box?? I know how to build good boxes ... but have not yet learned how to design them.
Therefore, I ask your advice. Thanks for your help

Why phase inverted? You should apply appropriate amount of delay on the rest of the boxes. That and the right crossover points.
As for the parameters, look for qts, fs, xmax, bl. That can tell enough if the driver is good for horn loading or not.
So B&C 18TBX100 is the one you need for those boxes if B&C is what you can get. That is as close to the RCF you can get.
