I was playing with smaart today a checking the port tuning of the cab.

I don't have an RTA mic (whats not the best start) so I used a rode NT5

Its suppose to say 63Hz but it was flicking between 68-77Hz

I placed the mic in the centre of the port level with the baffle
is that right?

Gareth, with my cabs I have gone with the BMS recommendation of 25l / driver with a port frequency of 63hz. presuming you have done the same your ports could do with lengthening to give you a slightly lower tuning.
Of coarse if you have less cab. volume then the tuning could well be right.

LOL by looking at your pictures it looks like you have just copied a JBL SRX 712............

Everything is the same: Speakcons, horn size, Neo 12", size etc etc but i guess nobody is buying the JBL SRX now due to the fact they cost over a £1000 each new !!

Start selling your little monitors you couold make a killing !!

Lovely build and a lovely cabinet Thumbs Up

Ok matey very well done.

Just one more tip when you put the grills on add some foam to them as well. I know the BMS cones are waterproof but it would stop stains from beer etc and protect the comp driver from the same.

Markie will do you some pieces of foam to match the grills.

I can stop worrying now. Excellent work, you just need a little badge to put on them now!!!
My 620's took about 2 months too really run in and I swear they have gained 2 db in the process.
Try them with 2000w music and stand well back.

Im still running them with a rmx 2450 but it only gives 650ishwatt at 4ohm.

Gona try it with my q66 4ohm bridged on bass, it claims 1700watt and the qsc doing hi

should do the trick
