Must choose double driver cab to go over scoops real soon, and just cant decide.

2x18 reflex :

Does 60hz-200hz No problem, clean, flat sound, no horn honk business
Can do sub in small venues/house party,
Not as good for kick outside

USB:

Advantages:Will do 60-170 depending on driver, sexy looking cab
Will be real good outside;
Disadvantages:Can only do kick, expensive to buy and load, heavy

HD215

Faster , more accurate than 2x18 cab, lighter than 2x18
Cant do sub,  very hard to find used.

Didnt mention ES18BPH as 2x on their side is too wide for scoops, and I personally think it is too high standing up.

Look at the martin 215 mkII plan that HBL drew up. In my opinion the only suitable bin on your list would be the USB and I think the martin cab would do the job better.
me so horny, me love you long throw.

We use HD215 above our Hogs, they kick like mules. I havent heard the USB yet so i cant comment on that. I have heard the Martin 215s though and they rock. A bit massive though.

This requirement really does come down to personal taste/music & type of crowds you're playing to.

"Most" systems using scoops are playing dancehall/rnb/dub.

Typical crowds at these events dont want the decapitating kick of Martin 215, they want to feel the scoop, but hear the kick.

For years Soundsystems have used 2x15 reflex, and it does the job well even in large venues. However hornloaded designs mean less drivers, less power, but more expensive cabinets.

I have the same decision to make, but due to cost and financial climate, I'll either be going for HD215 or 2x18 reflex. The 2x18 reflex also doubles up nicely as a sub for christmas house parties.Wink

in that second picture, the handles are upside down

lev, you took the words right out of my mouth

you don't want it taking your head off, 2 x 15'' reflex all day long, tune them to say 70hz, job done

tune them to 50 and you could do house parties with them

This stack (below) was kicking very hard the other day, but what I noticed at the time that it wasn't too high!
