Hell yeah... DCX £220 product with a £20 badge, DBX £10 product with £100s pounds of badge. The only thing worth a rack space to leave DBX is the 160 comp......

So here's one. Iv owned dcx for about 6-7 years used every weekend no problem at all but I have noticed the crossover points are getting abit "weak" over the last year. Example... Crossover points not as sharp as they usto be and a slight bleed of bass into the Mids when it should be full cut at the lpf and have to correct this with eq. Anyone else had Similar problem? Starting to think it's the age of the unit now and things are starting to break down, I have also factory reset many times with still no joy.. Any advice welcome. Cheers

Dear msoundsystem, The issue you are describing with your DCX is not one that I specifically have encountered myself with these units. Therefore, the best recommendation that we can make would be to have the unit looked over by a BEHRINGER authorized service center. If this is the route you would like to take, then please select your country in the following link from the BEHRINGER website to help you find a BEHRINGER authorized service center that can provide you with further assistance for your DCX: http://www.music-group.com/brand/behringer/store-finder?type=POS Let’s

A friend asked me to take a look at his ultradrive that is giving him some issues. When turned on it's all ok. When scrolling through the pages it seems ok, then we come to the crossover frequency page and the screen goes dim and hardly visible. I don't think the screen is at fault. Maby the main IC chip? Any advice welcome. Thanks

Dear msoundsystem, I would agree with you that the issue may just be related to the main IC for the DCX2496. The best recommendation that we can make would be to have the unit looked over by a http://www.ebay.com/sch/Consumer-Electronics-/293/i.?_nkw=behringer - BEHRINGER authorized service center. thanks for the reply! so i am going to replace the main EPROM chip. i have found an equivalent as the original one doesn't exist anymore. ( equivalent chip AM29F040B ) my question is do i need an EPROM burner to program it with the DCX Latest firmware? or can i install the chip in the DCX then connect the ultradrive up to pc and install firmware that way? if i need an EPROM burner can someone recommend me a budget one? most likely i will only use it a handful of times.
thanks again. |

Try re flashing with the latest firmware via the serial port, make sure you ise a real one not a usb adaptor andread the manual on how to set it up and also which type of config cable. - v1.17 is for the later dcx's withoit the pcmcia slot.

Do not use a USB to serial adaptor to flash firmware, most desktop pc's have a 9 pin port as do many older winxp laptops, then use a serial port cable. Again do not use anything thay connects to USB.
